Jesse Thompson is the son of Annie Thompson and an unknown father, and the nephew of George Thompson, a Corporal in the Royal Marines. Born in 1805, his uncle has only recently learned of his existence, in December 1809, during the in-game timeline of Show the Colours.

Like his uncle, Jesse's 'home' is a room above the Ropemaker's Arms in Chatham, but he is expected to clear out during the day so that his mother and grandmother can take their clients there.
