Gleve House is the London residence of the Earl of Gleve. It is located at the western end of the Strand and has a garden stretching down to the Thames. Originally build at the end of the 16th century in the early Jacobean style, it was altered several times in the following decades to transform it from a Renaissance building into a comfortable modern building. Around the middle of the 18th century, two additional wings were added which contain a ballroom and a picture gallery. It escaped the Strand fire of 1780 largely undamaged.

[It is mostly based on Northumberland House]
